Creative Expressions of Safety
Children all across Nova Scotia responded enthusiastically to the challenge we issued to them to draw how their parents stay safe at work.
It was an impossible task, but WCB employees selected three winners from each of the three age categories. Bonnie Nippard in our Sydney office summed up the quality of the entries best when she said, “Wish they all could win! They were fantastic!”
Community papers throughout Nova Scotia partnered on the venture. Winners’ names will be published the week of November 23.
Getting closer to the community and creating a forum to make workplace safety a topic at dinner tables as well as boardroom tables, is one of the ways the WCB wants to reduce injury in the province.
First Prize Winners:

Ages 5-7: Eric Campbell, 6, Upper Rawdon

Ages 8-10: Rebecca Keeping, 9, Cow Bay

Ages 11-12: Frances Rebecca LeBlanc, 12, Antigonish
