Don’t let the hustle and bustle of the holiday season get in the way of safety


Lunch rooms are filled with treats and there’s a last minute push to get work done before the New Year. The holiday season is officially here. This is often the time of year when stress and distractions are high. 

To help make sure safety on the job doesn’t take a back seat, we’re sharing some quick tips to help ensure you have a safe and ergonomically friendly holiday season.  

Make sure your vehicles are ready for all possible travel conditions – Whether you travel for work, are making last minute deliveries, or keeping roads clear for holiday drivers, ensure your vehicle is equipped for winter driving. In addition to winter tires, a first aid kit, jumper cables, flash light and blanket are good things to keep on hand in case of a roadside emergency.

Build extra time into travel –Build extra time into your travel – whether for work or holiday fun. 

Keep walkways clear – Whether workers move items in your workplace or holiday deliveries are coming to your door, be sure to keep walkways from obstructions and ice and snow to avoid slips, trips, and falls. 

The cash register chimes are beginning to sound like jingle bells – It’s one of the busiest times of the year for the retail industry. Many workers are new to the job. Share the importance of safety in the workplace with new workers and remind seasoned veterans as well.
