A vibrant safety community is working hard in this industry to have an impact on what can often be hazardous work environments.

Last year there were 59 lost time injuries in the automotive sector, and 26 among retail gasoline operations.

The most common injuries in the combined sectors were to the back, shoulders, fingers, feet and wrists.

A number of associations are working to create safer workplaces among the organizations that put Nova Scotia’s vehicles on the road, and keep them there.
